The Alchemist Question #5

If this story is a religious allegory, which it is often compared to, who/what would Melckizedek be?

I don't mean to be facetious, but I think that if the book is understood as a religious allegory, Melchizedek might represent Melchizedek. He acted as a prophetic character that had special access to the divine and who helped guide other people toward it.
