Question #4

Toward the beginning of the book, Almond lists the candy goods currently inside his house. Right now, I'm looking at a tube of strawberry Creme Savers, two Tootsie Rolls Pops, and two mini Snickers. What is in your house/apartment at the moment?

6 Kinder Eggs (A Canadian chocolate egg that is not seasonal) and half a bag of Kookaburra liquorice. You can see this two ways: either we are really big candy freaks, so we can't keep candy in the house because we eat it so fast; or, we aren't really big candy freaks.

Because Marci is a candy freak we usually have a bunch of options to choose from, but right now we are a little low: 1/2 box Red vines, English Toffee and Strawberry Licorice from Trader Joes and 1/3 box Good & Plenty for me. No Hot Tamales right now, which means it is time to go to the grocery store!

One chocolate letter "B" left over from Christmas; a Cadbury bar or two; several Hershey bars of the milk and dark variety (s'mores paraphernalia); a bag of M&M's; a giant crunch bar; and some Christmas peeps (geez, that is embarrassing!). This of course does not count the three cartons of ice cream we have in the freezer or the pan of brownies I made this morning. Yeah, we are fatsos.

Absolutely nothing. I am moving to San Francisco tomorrow, but that doesn't really have much to do with it. I rarely have candy in the house. That's not because I'm healthy by any means, I just don't eat candy at home very much. Hmmm... I may need to rethink this.

I'm sorry...I still can't get over the fact that Blair and Sam still have candy left over from Christmas. I can't remember the last time a candy bar lasted more than 15 minutes at my house.

Wow. I'm proud of everyone for having that much candy in their houses! Like James said, candy doesn't last long in our house, therefore we don't buy it. Even a ginormous bag of dried cranberries from Costco didn't last more than a few days.

But if I would have seen this question on Friday, this is what I could have answered: 1 Big Hunk, 1 box of Abba Zabba miniatures, 2 Chunky's, 2 Snickers, 1 U-No bar, 1 Look!, 2 Utah Truffles, 2 Idaho Spuds, 2 5th Avenues, 1 big bag of Sour Patch Kids...I think that's all. Yeah it was a Candyfreak theme night and we watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the old one). And I'm surprised that we didn't eat all of the candy in one night...it actually lasted the whole weekend.

Oh my gosh, James and Cassidy, I LOVE that you had a CandyFreak night! Willy Wonka . . . my favorite. I miss you guys . . .

I would just like to pint out that the chocolate letter is Blair's from Chirstmas - for some reason she is hording it like a chipmunk. And the Christmas Peeps were purchased at an incredible discount after Christmas, so they're not that old (by one month). There is also a large amount of strange Easter candy that we haven't worked through and even some chocolate pasta that we haven't tried yet (though I don't think that is technically candy).
